      Thanks for coming.
Usually if you're entering wrong password 7 or 10 times then you'll see forgot password option which will prompt you to enter your Gmail account associated with your phone and typing a new password to allow you to unlock the phone.
      Hope this helps :)

    3. Hi Elizabeth Gonzalez,
      Thanks for coming.
Did you forget your lock screen password?
If you can't see the forgot password option, then you can try to unlock your phone by using the third-party app called Screen Lock Bypass. You can see the complete steps here:http://inside-galaxy.blogspot.com/2013/08/samsung-galaxy-s3-how-to-by-pass-lock.html
FYI, the steps are written for Galaxy S3, but I believe it can be applied in other Samsung Galaxy phones.

    1. Hi Kenny,
      Thanks for coming.
Unfortunately by default there is no way to turn off the phone using password. And after some further search on several forums, there is no app for it. Also, Samsung Galaxy S3 was come with removable battery, so I thinks whatever the method or apps that is used, people can easily turning off the phone by pulling out the battery.
      Hope this helps :)

      Thanks for coming.
Usually if you have entered the wrong password several times then you'll be prompted to enter your Gmail account associated with your phone and typing a new password to allow you to unlock the phone. Another way, you could also utilize another third-party app to bypass the lock screen, such as Screen lock by pass pro app or else. If you don't mind, you're welcome to visit our post about it here:http://inside-galaxy.blogspot.com/2013/08/samsung-galaxy-s3-how-to-by-pass-lock.html

      Thanks for coming.
Try to install third-party app called baby call blocker. This app will prompt the phone user(in this case, your kid) to enter the password whenever they hit the Call button in the Phone app. Here's the link:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.parupudi.apps&hl=en

    1. Hi Saleh Ramadhan,
      Thanks for coming.
There's an option called "Encrypt device" under security menu, when you enable it, you have to enter the PIN or password each time you turn on the phone. The encryption process may take an hour or more, depending on how much data you have. But, there are some risks when you encrypt the phone:
      1. Forget the password, and the only way to decrypt the phone is by performing the factory reset which will erase all your data.
      2. Some users have reported that they encountered some issues in their encrypted device after they did update, such as unable to read their data when they move/copy/paste certain file.
      3. This will also slow down the phone.
      4. You'll only allowed to use PIN or password as to unlock the lock screen, which will also not allow you to use some lock screen options.

So, if you have already understand the risk and still want to encrypt the phone, you can do so by going to Settings> tap More tab> tap Security> tap "Encrypt device" and then follow the on-screen instruction.
As a note, make sure your battery is fully charged or you can also keep your phone plugged in until the encrypt process is completed. If you interrupt the process, you may loss some or all of your data,
      Hope this helps :)

    1. Hi Cole Dixon,
      Thanks for coming.
I'm so sorry to say that I don't know will it still be secured or not if you have entered your password incorrectly many times. But, if it related with security, change your password periodically is an important thing to do.

    1. Hi Cole Dixon,
Thanks for coming back here and let me know about it. In my opinion, an option always brings two sides, such as when we've chosen to use password, we'll get our phone more secure but it'll also give us less comfort and more risk to accidentally or not locking up our phones because entering an incorrect password or forget the password.

    1. Hi Galaxy Grace,
      Thanks for coming.
FYI, these steps are written for Samsung Galaxy S3 with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. So, if you're running with Android Jelly Bean, the steps to set lock screen password are little bit different. You can do so by going to Settings> tap "My device" tab> tap "Lock screen"> tap "Screen lock"> tap "Password" and then enter the required password you want to use on your lock screen.
