Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Block Pop-Ups in Browser Applications

The stock Browser apps inside Samsung Galaxy SIII has come with some options to extend your experience while using it, such as an option to enable or disable JavaScript which will allow you to set the browser to load or not to load JavaScript on the web that you're currently viewing.

Another option available there that will expand your comfort is an option to block pop ups. This of course will useful if you often annoyed with an unwanted pop-ups displayed while you use the browser apps to browse the webs.


How to make the browser block pop-ups?
Below are the steps you need to do:
  1. Open the Internet Browser apps.
  2. Tap the Menu key then select Settings.
  3. Tap Advanced.
  4. Scroll to Page content section. Depending on your current settings, tap Block pop-ups to enable or disable this option. If the box next to this option is ticked means this option is enabled and the pop up will be blocked.
  5. Tap the Back key to return to the browser page.

By enabling this option, the browser will block the pop up on the web you're viewing and you will no longer be annoyed with the unwanted pop ups while browsing the web.

  1. I keep getting pop ads on my galaxy grand 2. I have blocked pop ups. I even removed all the apps i installed except the ones that the phone came with. I still see the pop ups. What else can I try?

      Thanks for coming.
      If you're like me, sometimes I confused to differ between pop-ups and java script. So, to check whether it's a pop-ups or java script, try to turn off java script and turn on pop-ups then see what happen afterwards. If it not appears, then it's a java script which is looks like a pop ups.

  2. I enable Block Pop Ups, but I still get them!!

      Try turning off java script too. Though you have enabled block pop ups, some of them sometimes keep appear when java script is turned on.
