Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Enable or Disable Screen Lock Sound in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Samsung Galaxy S5 provides you with several screen lock methods to have your device more secure and prevent from unauthorized access. When you have enabled a screen lock method, you'll be given with some options to personalize your lock screen, one of which is the screen lock sound. When the screen lock sound is enabled, your phone will sound when you're locking or unlocking the screen. But, if you don't want your phone sounds when locking or unlocking the screen or if you feel annoyed with the sound then you can turn off the sound simply by disabling the screen lock sound.

How to turn on or off the screen lock sound?
To make the screen lock sound works, make sure the screen lock is not turned off and your phone is not in silent or vibration mode. Well, you can access the option to enable or disable the screen lock sound by using two different methods: from the general settings menu and from the S Finder.

Method #1: From the settings menu
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the Sound and display section and then tap Sound .
  3. Scroll down to the Feedback section.
  4. Depending on your current settings, tap Screen lock sound to enable or disable this option. When the checkbox next to this option is checked means the screen lock sound is enabled and your phone will play a sound when you're locking or unlocking the screen.

Method #2: From the S Finder
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap the S Finder button.
  2. Key in "screen lock sound" in the search field and then tap to start searching.
  3. In the search result page, under the Settings section, tap Screen lock sound. It'll quickly bring you to the place where the screen lock sound option is located.
  4. Depending on your current settings, tap Screen lock sound to enable or disable this option. When the checkbox next to this option is checked means the screen lock sound is enabled and your phone will play a sound when you're locking or unlocking the screen.

As a note, if you have enabled swipe as your screen lock method then you can have different tone for the screen lock sound by changing the lock screen effect. But, if you have enabled a screen lock method other than swipe then the screen lock sound will use the water ripple sound as its tone by default. Also, if needed, you can increase or decrease the screen lock sound volume by adjusting the system volume in the general sound volume settings.
