Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Enable People Edge Feature and Add Contacts to My People in Android 5.0.2 Lollipop

If the edge lighting feature is enabled, you can use the people edge feature to have your phone lights up its edge screen with the different colours when you receive calls or notifications from those you have added to My people while the main screen is off and your phone's screen is facing downwards. As the example, if you have added "Rehan" to My people and assign her to the green colour indicator, when she calls or messages you, the edge screen will light up green when the main screen is off and your phone is turned over.

How to enable the people edge feature and add contacts to My people?
Assuming that the edge lighting feature is enabled, you can enable the people edge feature and add contacts to My people by using the following steps:
  1. While the screen is unlocked, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to the Device section and then tap Edge screen.
  3. Tap People edge.
  4. If People edge is off, tap the ON/OFF switch to turn it on. The switch turns green when it's enabled.
  5. To add a contact to My people, do as follows:
    • Tap My people.
    • Tap Add contact next to the required colour indicator.
    • Select the required contact from your contacts list.
    • The selected contact has been added to My people. FYI, you can add up to 5 contacts to My people.
    • Tap the Back key to return to the People edge menu.
  6. If needed, you can set your phone to vibrate if there are notifications from contacts listed in My people when you pick up your phone by sliding the ON/OFF switch next to Alert when picking up to the right to enable it. The switch turns green when it's enabled.
