Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Create a New Text Message in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

If you have inserted a nano SIM card in your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and are in an active text plan, you can use your phone to create a new text message and then send it to the required contacts.

How to create a new text message?
As the example, we'll do so by using three different methods: from the stock Messaging app, from a contact's log, and from the people edge.

Method #1: From the stock Messaging app
It's the basic method that you can use to send a text message to the required contact. You can use the following steps to send a text message from the stock Messaging app:
  1. Open the stock Messaging app.
  2. Tap at the bottom right corner of the screen to create a new text message.
  3. Enter the recipient's phone number in the Enter recipients field or tap to pick up the required contact from your contacts list.
  4. Write your message in the Enter message field.
  5. Tap Send button to send your text message.
  6. Your text message will be sent to the selected contact.

Method #2: From a contact's log
You can use the following steps if you want to easily send a text message to a contact who have called you:
  1. Open Phone app.
  2. Tap Log tab.
  3. Tap a log of the required contact you want to send a text message.
  4. Tap to create a new text message.
  5. Write your message in the Enter message field.
  6. Tap Send button to send your text message.
  7. Your text message will be sent to the selected contact.

Method #3: From the people edge
You can use the following steps to easily send a text message to a contact that you have added to the my people list:
  1. To open the edge screen, drag the edge screen handle towards the centre the screen. If the edge screen displays the apps edge at the first place, you have to swipe across the screen again to access the people edge.
  2. Tap an icon of the required contact you want to send a text message.
  3. Tap to create a new text message.
  4. Write your message in the Enter message field.
  5. Tap Send button to send your text message.
  6. Your text message will be sent to the selected contact.
