Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Enable and Use Call Waiting Feature in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

If needed, you can enable the call waiting feature in your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to have your phone alerts you when there's an incoming call while you're in an active call so you won't miss any important one. When you're talking with the person in the active call, you can swap the call so you can put this call on hold and talk with the person in the other call.

How to enable or disable the call waiting feature?
You can turn on or off this feature by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Phone app.
  2. Tap More at the top right and then select Settings.
  3. Tap More settings.
  4. Tap the ON/OFF switch next to Call waiting to enable or disable this option. When the switch turns , means the call waiting feature is enabled and you'll be allowed to receive incoming call alerts during calls.

Please note that in some models, the call waiting feature may be disabled or unavailable. Thus, if you cannot find this feature in your phone, you can use the call waiting code that you can get from your service provider as the alternative way to enable or disable the call waiting feature.

How to use the call waiting feature?
If you have enabled the call waiting feature, you can use the following steps as the example of using this feature:
  1. When you're in an active call and an incoming call arrives, your phone will play a tone to let you know that you have another call and its notification will be displayed on the screen.
  2. Assuming that the single tap mode is enabled, tap to accept the second call or tap to reject it.
  3. If you choose to accept the second call, you'll be provided with the following options:
    • Put the first call on hold: select this option if you want to talk with the person in the second call and put the first call on hold.
    • End call with the first call: select this option if you want to talk with the person in the second call and end the first call.
  4. If you choose to put the first call on hold, you can swap the call by tapping so you can talk with the person in the first call and put the the second call on hold.
  5. Tap to end the active call.
